What drives any organization forward is its
people. And so it is with MANGO, our people are our strength. Because we are
consultants for hire, you can draw on our strengths to advance your goals.
MANGO principal
Febe Galvez is an authority on the language of fundraising. Since 1999, her
career has focused almost exclusively on fundraising communication. Her
carefully crafted proposals and appeals, including case statements and direct-mail
campaigns, have helped organizations from across western Canada achieve
funding goals of up to $100 million.
Febe holds a Master of Arts in Applied
Communication from Royal Roads University (RRU). The application of
communication and argumentation theory to the language of fundraising is an area
of interest for Febe and the focus of her MA thesis. Hers is the first study in
Canada into the language of fundraising and contributes to a small body of
knowledge that is emerging south of the border. Her thesis was nominated, by
faculty, for the RRU Outstanding Thesis Award (2006).
Further informing her work is a 20-year
career in which she has held various corporate communication positions, including a senior public
affairs position with the Government of Alberta, communication roles in the
oil-and-gas sector and in the post-secondary system, where she received the
President’s Award of Excellence.
Febe serves on the board of directors
for the Association of Fundraising Professionals, Vancouver Chapter.
MANGO associate
Amanda Le Rougetel draws from more than 15 years of communication
experience. She is an accomplished writer and editor, who excels at translating complex
ideas into simple, powerful language.
Amanda understands the not-for-profit
sector. She was a founding member of
Friends of Music (a volunteer group established to generate community support
for the Winnipeg Symphony Orchestra), has sat on the board of the Winnipeg
Symphony Orchestra, and today is a board member for the Kidney Foundation of
Canada (Manitoba branch) and the Women’s Health Clinic in Winnipeg.
She has a BA in translation from the
University of Alberta, a Bachelor of Journalism from King’s College (Halifax)
and holds a Master in Arts in Applied Communication through Royal Roads
University. Her thesis focuses on the roots of clear, meaningful communication
and how text must be adapted to meet the needs of different target audiences. |
